The composite of graphite fiber and resin can obtain materials with an expansion coefficient almost equal to zero. Another characteristic of fiber-reinforced materials is anisotropy, so the arrangement of fibers can be designed according to the strength requirements of different parts of the component. Aluminum based composite materials reinforced with carbon fiber and silicon carbide fiber can maintain sufficient strength and modulus at 500 ℃.

The main raw materials for prepreg are GF (short cut glass fiber), UP (unsaturated resin), MD (filler), and various additives mixed thoroughly. Due to its excellent electrical, mechanical, heat resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance, BMC body molding materials can meet the performance requirements of various products and are widely used in fields such as automotive manufacturing, railway transportation, building accessories, and electromechanical products.

The main raw materials are GF (special yarn), UP (unsaturated resin), low shrinkage additives, MD (filler), and various additives. It appeared earlier in Europe in the early 1960s. Around 1965, the United States and Japan successively developed this technology. In the late 1980s, China introduced advanced SMC production lines and technologies from abroad. SMC composite materials and SMC molded products have excellent electrical insulation, mechanical properties, thermal stability, and chemical corrosion resistance. Therefore, SMC resin manhole cover products are widely used. The current development trend is for SMC composite materials to replace BMC materials.
